Midfielder Charlie Allen back at Margate

STRUGGLING South side have been boosted by the return of Charlie Allen on a short-term deal .

The 23-year-old former and Gillingham man joined the Gate in March 2014 and made 24 appearances in an injury-hit campaign.

He still managed to hit 13 important goals as Margate won promotion to Step 2 through the Ryman Premier play-offs.

The midfielder left the club in the summer hoping to find a team closer to his Oxford home but he is now back with the Gate on a short-term deal.

Boss Terry Brown will be hoping the signing will lift the squad after a tough start in the . They have won just two of their opening 12 league games and currently sit in 18th.

“I am delighted to see Charlie here,” said Brown. “He is the fittest player I know and he will add some much needed legs and hopefully some goals in midfield.”
