AN EARLY Ben Seymour-Shove strike enabled Ives to claim their first win since January.
The only goal arrived after eight minutes as Liam McDevitt flicked on a Jack Bradshaw long throw and Seymour-Shove hammered the loose ball into the turf with such force that it bounced up into the roof of the net, giving keeper Shane Murphy no chance.
St Ives had cause to thank keeper Tim Trebes for preserving their lead as he made an excellent stop, low to his right, to keep out a powerful back-post header from Magpies skipper Matt Walker on the stroke of half-time.
