GRAEMEPurdy scored the only goal as Godalming won this relegation battle.
Early play was undistinguished, but Chatham were reduced to ten men after 28 minutes when Abdul Aziz Lyoubi was sent off for his second yellow in the space of a minute.
Jordan Gallagher went close for Chatham on the hour, but minutes later came Purdy’s goal after the ball broke to him on the edge of the area. Leonardo Mazzone had the ball in the net for Chatham ten minutes later but was ruled offside.
