BEN Hutchinson’s 58th minute goal decided a tense battle as Basford beat the league leaders.
Hutchinson headed in Fabian Smith’s cross at the far post, but Basford’s real match winner was keeper Saul Deeney who pulled off a string of fine saves.
Both sides hit the woodwork in the first half, Basford’s Kyle Dixon with a shot from distance in the third minute, then 20 minutes in, Alex Byrne’s cross-cum-shot clipped the bar.
