Howzat Casuals?

IT was heartening to read Sam Elliott’s article on the famous Corinthian- Casuals last week (NLP, March 26).
I used watch Casuals play on the lush turf of Surrey Cricket Club’s Oval ground during the 1950s. Good luck to them in their push to gain promotion.
Sam writes in his piece that Casuals’ crowds peak at “just over double figures”.
Should they find themselves in the Ryman Premier next season – and I sincerely hope they do – then rest assured those attendances will certainly rise!
