I HAD the pleasure of achieving an ambition of visiting Crook Town at the weekend. Wow, a step back in time to what grounds should be! Cinder banks, massive stands – the atmosphere would have been amazing 50 years ago, during the glory years.
The match was great entertaining and as football should be. Easington Colliery ran out 5-1 winners and in effect looked a level above Crook, who lost their way in the second half.
