■ FAVERSHAM took the lead early against relegated Godalming, but they had to wait till late on to seal the points.
Sam Bewick scored the opener from a penalty after Josh Stanford seemed to trip over his own feet in the box. Faversham came close to a second before half-time, Liam King struck after a mistake by Chris Wales but his shot was tipped over the bar by Oneal Garnes.
G’s kept pressing for an equaliser and a header hit the post, but Faversham sealed the points when King took the ball round Garnes to score.
