■HASTINGS United had the chance to confirm their play-off place if they were able to gain three points and another result went the right way.
However, it was not to be. Casuals took an early lead after a mistake from Jerome Sobers was pounced on by Moses Ashikodi.
The U’s relentlessly attacked the Casuals goal but couldn’t find a way through until ten minutes from time when Matt Bodkin smashed a shot home.
Sadly, nothing more came and they travel to Lewes in the Sussex derby on Monday keen to finish the job.
