BASFORD United finished the league season in style with a crushing win in a match that had been billed as a potential play-off decider but lost its significance as news spread of scores elsewhere.
Basford had an early let off when James Askey found himself clear but his header was straight at Saul Deeney.
Deeney’s opposite number Harry Pickering then pro- duced a flying save to tip over Matt Thornhill’s header.
