FIRST-HALF doubles from Josh Mayhew and Luke Read ensured that Great Wakering Rovers finished bottom of the pile
Relegated Rovers held firm for 33 minutes but the floodgates then opened at Burroughs Park, with Mayhew notching twice in the space of eight minutes.
Then, Bury’s Read came to the fore as he pounced with goals in the 42nd and 44th minute to leave the hosts with that familiar sinking feeling.
Rovers’ Neil Richmond notched a consolation effort to make it 4-1.
