FC CLACTON endured a miserable start to the new campaign as they suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat at home to WALSHAM-LEWILLOWS.
The visitors gained an unassailable 5-0 halftime lead as Ryan Gibbs struck twice with further goals added by Andrew Cusack, Craig Nurse and Ryan Clarke.
Callum Dongray’s late strike completed the rout and on this evidence the home side, who were given a reprieve from relegation despite finishing last season in the bottom three, face another battle to beat the drop this time around.
