MICKLEOVER and Witton both took a point from this fascinating opening day encounter at the Don Amott Arena.
Witton, who were promoted into Step 3 last season after winning the Division One South play-offs, made a flying start to the season and gained the lead as early as the second minute when Steven Tames netted a penalty after new signing Alex Newby was fouled.
Paul Williams almost doubled the lead for the visitors shortly after the half hour mark but his effort was just over.
