IN a repeat of last years opening day Ossett Town visited Volair Park for the season curtain raiser with the visitors coming out on top this time.
Prescot started brightly with Dale Wright having an effort deflected. From the resulting corner Ossett Town broke with Cables keeper Marcus Burgess denying Kai Hancock.
The breakthrough came on 14 minutes via Ashley Jackson who blasted the visitors ahead from the penalty spot after the referee had seen a push and it was Hancock who doubled the lead on 32 minutes.
