MARGATE threw away a twogoal lead after a dream start and suffered the heartache of conceding a 91st-minute equaliser, although they were the first team to take points off Leiston.
The hosts opened the scoring in the third minute, Jack Evans superbly lofting a fine effort over the head of Leiston keeper Marcus Garnham.
And they doubled their advantage seven minutes later when Matt Bodkin raced down the left, cut inside and curled a fine effort into the corner of the net.
