TONIGHT I am keen to say a fond farewell to Bootham Crescent – charismatic home of York City – before they ship out to a (no doubt) soulless new stadium in the near future.
I remember my trips to York when I followed Notts County with affection. Here, City are playing Darlington in a fixture between two sides seeking to regain past glories: The Minstermen v The Quakers! Both teams linger in the National League North for the 17-18 season having reached this level by varying circuitous, troubled routes.
