BILLERICAY kept their faithful fans waiting before overcoming a spirited Enfield Town side, who were left to rue an early missed penalty.
The Towners were gifted that early opportunity when Ryan Blake capitalised on a mix-up between ‘keeper and defence to burst into the box only to be pulled back.
Simon Thomas stepped up to take the penalty, but his tame effort was well saved by Ricay keeper Alan Julian.
But it was no surprise when Enfield took a deserved lead, Taylor Mckenzie powering home a header from a corner on 35 minutes
