A clinical Welling hung on to earn victory at St Albans. It was the hosts who started the brighter and Layne Eadie hit the woodwork within the first ten minutes.
The home side continued to create chances and were only denied by an inspired Dillon Barnes in the Welling goal, who saved Solomon Sambou’s strike before denying Charlie Walker.
A quick Welling break saw the ball fall to Joe Healy, who curled an effort home.
The lead was doubled when Jack Jebb manoeuvred through and placed the ball under the on-rushing Dean Snedker.
