TWO goals from Halesowen hero John McAtee left struggling Whitby without a win in 12 games.
But the visitors started well and went ahead after just five minutes when Kyle Fryatt’s header struck the underside of the bar and he was on hand to tap home the rebound. Daniel McWilliams then curled a 7th minute free-kick wide.
McAtee led Halesowen’s recovery and he went close in the 33rd minute as his effort hit the base of the post. But McAtee soon equalised when his 36th minute shot from the edge of the penalty area deflected beyond Whitby goalkeeper Daniel Dixon.
