LANCASTER’S unbeaten home record was brought to an end by Matlock.
Sam Bailey brought a superb reaction save from Phil Barnes in the Matlock goal.
Matlock had a good chance themselves a couple of minutes later when Shaun Harrad headed wide but then took the lead after 21 minutes when Jake Green headed home.
Bailey was denied an equaliser on 37 minutes by another good save from Barnes while at the other end, Harrad almost doubled the visitors lead.
Matlock almost added a second after 50 minutes when Dwayne Foley sent a powerful header over the crossbar.
