PHOENIX REVAMP

SHIFNAL TOWN have unveiled plans to spend a seven-figure sum on upgrading their “life expired” Phoenix Park ground.
A group of local businessmen have agreed to fund the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division outfit’s plans, matching funding from the Football Foundation.
Promoted Division One champions Shifnal, who want to relocate their clubhouse from Newport Road to the ground, aim to become a community club running several teams.
Chairman Peter Bradley said: “The facilities at the ground and dressing rooms are at the end of their life.”
