Promotion rivals play a stalemate

ON A day when the top two lost, these two promotion chasers ground out a stodgy goalless draw in a game where Essex boys Braintree enjoyed the best of the firsthalf while Havant shaded the second.
The Iron started strongly and, after just ten minutes, man of the match Marc Okoye headed wide from a superb Billy Crook cross. In the only other first half effort Crook hit a long-range shot which flashed over the bar.
