GRANTHAM began the game strongly with Lee Shaw twice forcing saves from Nantwich keeper Fabien Spiess. Nantwich had their first shot on goal on 14 minutes, and a minute later they were ahead. A corner was met by Sean Cooke, who rifled home to give Nantwich the lead.
Spiess was called upon again to keep out a Grantham freekick and then blocked Sam Osbourne’s follow-up. Lee Shaw found himself through on 23 minutes but couldn’t convert.
