BRENDAN Kelly is adamant his appointment to the Bromsgrove Sporting hot seat is not designed to pave the way for predecessor Paul Smith’s return.
Kelly had served as assistant manager to Smith, who resigned with immediate effect this week having previously vowed to stand down at the end of the season despite Sporting sitting top of the Midland Premier.
There had been growing acrimony behind the scenes at the Victoria Ground with Smith’s protracted contract negotiations and his differences with the board taking centre stage.
