■ TORRENTIAL rain did little to dampen Hanley Town’s spirits as they romped to an 8-2 win at Maine Road.
Theo Stair led the way, opening the scoring after just seven minutes and adding two more to complete his hattrick.
Michael Conlon bagged a brace with Dan Cope and Neville Thompson also on the scoresheet together with an own goal. Jack Coop scored in each half for the hosts.
Runcorn Town also had a free-scoring away day, roasting Burscough 5-1. And they also had a hat-trick hero in Craig Cairns. Harry Brazel added the others.
