HEREFORD maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table thanks to a Jennison Myrie-Williams hat-trick.
But the prospects for Gosport player-boss Rowan Vine, despite his own fine goal, look gloomy at the foot of the division.
Hereford dominated the early stages and Borough goalkeeper Patrick O’Flaherty had to deny Billy Murphy and John Mills.
Debutant Will Puddy, in the Hereford goal, had to pull off a save from Joseph Lea after a mistake by Murphy.
