JAMIE Dicks’ first-half goal proved to be the difference as Bowers & Pitsea beat AFC Hornchurch 1-0 in a battle between the divisions’ top two sides. Leaders Hornchurch dominated the opening stages, with Brad Warner forcing Callum Chafer into a good save, but it was Bowers who stunned everyone by taking the lead.
A long ball up to Lewis Manor in the 39th minute was knocked into Dicks, who shot first time to beat Sam Mott.
