IT WAS a bittersweet night for Bangor City,who beat Bala Town 2-1 to finish second in the JD Welsh Premier League – only a matter of hours after they were demoted on financial grounds.
The Citizens, one of the league’s founder members, have been thrown out of the league after their appeal against the refusal of their FAW domestic licence was rejected and means they will be playing Huws Gray Alliance football next season.
