LEE Hughes stole a late opening day victory for Halesowen with an 88thminute penalty against unlucky Lowestoft.
In a cagey first half, Ahmed Ali headed at Lowestoft goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins and the visitors went close in the 32nd minute when Jacek Zielonka crossed for Shaun Bammant to head over the bar immediately after a Lowestoft penalty appeal.
Zielonka’s clever 68thminute corner was met by his captain Adam Smith on the edge of the area, but Dan Platt made a flying save.
