HASTINGS came from a goal down to run out convincing winners.
United could have been ahead early on when Daniel Ajakaiye and Kelvin Ogboe had decent chances saved by visiting keeper William Godman.
Richard Pacquette put Thamesmead ahead on 35 minutes, but Sam Adams levelled two minutes later. Sam Cruttwell put United ahead at the end of the half with a free kick from 25 yards.
Dayshonne Golding caused numerous problems for the Thamesmead defence while Sam Adams worked tirelessly in midfield.
