A NEW-look Clitheroe side had a dreadful start to the season as they were destroyed by a one man wrecking ball in Anthony Malbon.
An even first period suddenly swung the visitors’ way as an overlap down the right was crossed in by Chris Budrys and driven home by Malbon.
Three minutes later he converted another cross, this time from Alex Lingard on the left -hand side to double Athletic’s advantage.
After half an hour Andrew Watson was left flat footed and Jordan Cole slipped home the third after two neat passes in the build-up.
