VETERAN Lee Hughes scored the winner at rainsoaked Matlock with 20 minutes left to ensure the Yeltz progressed to the next round.
Halesowen had dominated the opening half hour and should have been further in front than the goal Matlock gifted them when James Roberts pounced on terrible defending from a long punt to fire past Richard Walton.
Matlock gradually settled after Hughes had missed an easy chance to double the visitors’ lead in the 20th minute.
