FC UNITED moved into the third qualifying round with a victory over Colne at Broadhurst Park.
The Red Rebels had gone six games since their sole victory of the season, but the cup game seemed to be a welcome break as Mike Donohue headed home after just two minutes.
The visitors looked bright going forward but the two tiers between the teams soon became evident in the final third, as FC’s top scorer Kurt Willoughby doubled the lead just five minutes before the break.
