MERTHYR can have no complaints as Winchester turned out convincing winners to progress.
Merthyr had an early Adam Davies effort ruled out for offside but the game turned when City captain Jamie Barron scored a fine individual goal, thumping a 20-yard shot past Joe Perry.
They doubled their lead just before half-time as Tyrell Mitford lobbed Perry from 25 yards and Mitford robbed Merthyr defender Kyle Patten just a minute after the restart to beat Perry for his second.
