A STOIC Nantwich Town defence held firm at the Weaver Stadium to pick up a narrow victory over Farsley Celtic.
James Lawrie gave Nantwich the lead after 21 minutes.
Sean Cooke turned a man, dropped the ball off with Lawrie, and the former Northern Ireland international hit it into the bottom-left corner.
The goal came largely against the run of play in the first period.
But skipper Joel Stair doubled Nantwich’s advantage two minutes before half-time.
