MORPETH Town were made to work hard before securing a 1-0 win over Evo-Stik East rivals Lincoln United at Craik Park.
Making it eight league wins on the spin, the Highwaymen spurned a 22nd minute penalty through Sean Taylor, after David Carson was felled in the box by Michael Emery.
But Carson broke the deadlock with a matchwinning 69th minute effort, dispatched into the top corner.
It was a moment the home side deserved on reflection as they dominated possession and remained patient prior to the goal.
