JON Davies’ brace settled the day for Melksham Town as they edged Cinderford Town in a five-goal thriller.
The hosts took the lead after 38 minutes after great work by Davies left Neikell Plummer with an easy tap-in.
Melksham doubled their lead on the hour, Andy Sandell sending Davies clean through and he made no mistake. Cinderford reduced the deficit through Nick Grimes’ header from a corner.
Melksham restored their two-goal advantage from a Davies penalty after he was brought down.
