Reds are too powerful for brave Town

AN emphatic first half from Alfreton saw them comfortably through to the FA Cup first round.
Two braces from right back James Clifton and left winger Curtis Bateson saw the Reds take a four-goal lead before the half-hour mark, Bateson’s cross-shot evading everyone just five minutes in, before Richard Peniket was taken down in the area, Clifton converting low from 12 yards.
Bateson scored his second of the game when Peniket tried to turn his man, and the ball fell to Bateson, who slotted low into the near corner.
