Pontefract took the lead just before half time when the ball was scuffed home in a goalmouth scramble following a corner.
This stung the home side into life who suddenly found their attacking skills and after a couple of close shaves Paul Grimes lashed home the equaliser.
United keeper Mike Emery made a couple of fine saves as the Colls pressed once more. The Whites were good going forward too though.
