TRINITY took the honours in this clash at the top of the division.
Leaders Scarborough Athletic had the better of the early action, though they struggled to create any clear-cut chances.
Gainsborough soon grew into the game, but sights of the goal were at a premium.
It wasn’t until the 40th minute that they had their best strike of the half, forward Ashley Worsfold rifling a shot into the side netting of Tommy Taylor’s goal.
