DABBERS GO TOP AS SEASIDERS GET SUNK

NANTWICH TOWN 1
NANTWICH defeated Whitby to go above their Yorkshire coast rivals Scarborough and top the NPL Premier.
The Dabbers were denied by Adam McHugh’s strong save early on to keep out Callum Saunders. The Blues stopper then palmed away Sean Cooke’s effort, with Saunders slamming the rebound over the bar.
Saunders was tripped in the Blues box on the half hour but again McHugh was a thorn in their side as he blocked James Lawrie’s penalty.
The on-loan Bishop Auckland gloveman also pushed Cook’s low drive around his near post.
