MICK’S WAY AT BAY

MICK MULHERN has been appointed as manager of Northern
League side Whitley Bay. He steps up from the role of assistant which he has held since
February to replace playing legend and FA Vase winner Andy Gowans, who quit last Sunday following their 4-3 defeat at Whickham.
Mulhern said: “I am aware that I am filling the boots of a Whitley Bay legend and I am pleased to say that I am taking on the job with Andy’s full blessing.
“We have a good squad and I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage a club of the stature of Whitley Bay.
