OWENS VITAL TO NOMADS VICTORY

HOLDERS Connah’s Quay Nomads continued their defence of the JD Welsh Cup with a 3-1 win at Carmarthen Town to reach the last eight.
Andy Mor rison’s side had to come from behind after conceding a penalty in the ninth minute with Liam Thomas converting. Michael Wilde levelled it up on 33 minutes before Andy Owens then put the Nomads in front a minute after the re-start.
Owens was then fouled moments later in the box and resulted in Callum Morris scoring his side’s third.
