■TITLE hopefuls Ascot United have an early cause to celebrate after being given the green light to replace their Racecourse Ground pitch with an all-weather one. Ascot’s 20-year campaign to upgrade their grass pitch ended when Windsor and Maidenhead Borough Council approved plans to lay the artificial surface, which will allow the club’s youth teams and adult sides to train on it throughout the week.
