HITCHIN Town continued their climb away from relegation danger after Liam Castle’s clanger helped them to victory over Barwell at Kirkby Road.
It was a fourth win in Hitchin’s last five games, which was clinched when the Barwell keeper inexplicably tried to kick Noah Chesmain’s 15th-minute free-kick.
The dipping effort squirted under the unfortunate Castle and into his net to give the visitors a lead they never relinquished despite being under pressure for long periods.
