ALEX Simmons scored a last-minute winner to break Basford hearts in the battle of two promotion chasers at Greenwich Avenue.
Substitute Simmons got the only goal of the game in a highly crucial and competitive match against ten man Basford.
James Reid had Basford’s best chance of the game when his curling free-kick forced a good save out of Gainsborough keeper Joe Green.
