THE CONDITIONS were the winner at a windswept Meres as Buxton took the points with a 1-0 win.
Grantham had the advantage of the strong wind in the first half but neither side could come to terms with the elements.
It was 15 minutes before either keeper saw any real action, with Grantham’s Sam Andrew cutting out a cross ball.
Grantham won a free-kick and when the ball was played in, Buxton keeper Richards saved after a goalmouth scramble.
