BEDWORTH United fought hard but their defeat meant relegation.
The visitors exploited Hitchin’s mediocre start with Chekaine Steele shooting just wide.
Hitchin responded with Isaac Galliford’s pass to Ezra Forde whose shot was well saved by Adam Harrison and Luke Rowe’s free kick drew an equally good save.
Bedworth’s striker Iyesden Christie sustained an injury early on and was replaced by Will Harris who contributed well to Bedworth’s continuing pressure which was only relieved by a superb Hitchin move.
