CELTIC slumped to their seventh defeat in eight and their fourth in a row at home as they meekly surrendered to visitors Basford to remain entrenched in the relegation battle. Celtic’s best chance came on 14 minutes when Dan Cockerline found himself in space 15 yards from goal but he took too long to shoot and his goal bound effort was deflected to safety by Brad Gascoigne.
Scott Bakkor drew a regulation save from Basford stopper Kieran Preston and Glenn Rule blazed over before United took the lead with their first effort on goal...
