STEPHEN Nyoman wrote last week about the ‘plight’ of Barking with a closest away game in Step 4 at 20 miles away (Fans’ Forum, June 9). Well, sorry Stephen, but welcome to the rest of the country!
While it has been a few seasons since my side, Grantham Town, competed at Step 4, a minumum travel distance of 20 miles to the nearest was a good season.
I recall nearest games at Rugby- Town (55 miles), Loughborough Dynamo (31 miles) and Corby Town (30 miles) as well as trips to Hastings (174 miles), Newport, Isle of Wight (198 miles), Newport, South Wales (175 miles) and Tivert...
