SUTTON had the most testing of journeys to Hartlepool. But they were soon on the right track.
Train delays from Kings Cross Station to Hartlepool disrupted their plans, but they were two goals up after just 23 minutes and secured a deserved opening day win.
Pools, full of expectation after a busy summer of recruitment, were soon deflated.
Their first-half show was poor as the visitors dominated and proved a hard unit to break. Boss Matt Gray, after his first game in charge following his summer promotion, admitted:
